In an independent survey by Harris Poll in July 2023, the following question was asked to 2,078 American adults.

“If diagnosed with a chronic illness that required regular intake of a prescription drug, and given a choice of a botanical prescription drug or a synthetic/biologic prescription drug to treat the chronic illness, and assuming both are considered effective and equally priced, which one would you chose?”

While 36% of responders had no preference

and 18% preferred synthetic/biologic prescription drug,

47% of adults would choose a botanical prescription drug.
